Meet Victor Carillo
“You can cheat and lie on many things in life but two things you can’t ever cheat on or lie about are you’re bank account and fitness.”
Victor is a native of Orange County. He grew up playing a variety of sports until he found his passion for soccer.
Victor learned at a young age that you do not have to be the strongest, fastest or most athletic, but through hard work and dedication, he could achieve a higher level of athleticism. Knowing this drove Victor and gave him the confidence to pursue an athletic career in soccer. However, a misfortunate accident derailed his progress. During a soccer match, Victor suffered a torn ACL and meniscus.
While completing rigorous months of rehabilitation, Victor took the opportunity to do some soul searching. While his injury was unfortunate, it led him toward a new passion. Victor decided he wanted to educate athletes on how to prevent possible devastating injuries, like his, from occurring by providing athletes the support, knowledge, and tools they need to compete at the highest levels of competition.
Victor attended California State University, Long Beach where he graduated with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science. During his tenure at CSULB, he completed several internships at local hospitals and physical therapy offices to grow as a professional. His passion for learning has continued, finding new opportunities to better himself and his athletes through books, online courses, and seminars.
Victor acquired his bachelors in Kinesiology with an option in exercise science, USAW Level 1, FMS LVL 1, FMS LVL 2 and EXOS Performance Specialist.
Coach Vic loves to read books, watch movies, soccer, and learn new and interesting things the human body is capable of accomplishing. His favorite soccer team is FC Barcelona and is a season ticket holder to LAFC. One day coach Vic hopes to be able to travel the world and attend different soccer games in the process. Coach Vic is an accomplished black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
